For me my art is a way to unveil what cannot be seen, a hidden dimension in our world, like the material dreams are made of. With my art, I want to challenge my own and your perception of the world we live in, how we perceive the space, time and place of our surroundings and make you see and understand your surroundings in a different way. In working with art I find a way to understand the complexity of the world around me and ask you as the viewer what you see, what your imagination lets you perceive. So for me, working with photography is working with seeing. Sometimes I’m looking for something special, like a certain light, color, shape or object. Other times I’m just waiting for something that tells me a story and frame it.Ever since I was a kid I have been interested in architecture and how we imagine space. In creating my pictures I will go on walks in my surroundings, the city, the open landscape, open my eyes and go explore, make a mental journey.I work with what I have and like to work on film. It makes me think about the process and keeps me in the moment, in the space I want to capture. Sometimes I can have pictures lying around for a long time, before I see something in them and then finally one day they will talk to me, show me what story they want to tell, so they represent my experience in that moment, like they will represent your experience at that moment you look at them.
